Installation Requirements
How to determine what version of Internet Explorer you have installed:
Launch Internet Explorer either from the Desktop icon or Programs list. Select About Internet Explorer from the Help menu. The pop-up window will display the version information:

If the version number begins with 7 or above, then you are using a compatible version of Internet Explorer. If the version begins with a number less than 7 then you will need to update your installation of Internet Explorer in order to use Tax Management Expert. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx to install the latest version.
In addition to Internet Explorer 7 or greater, Tax Management Expert also requires some specific settings for Internet Explorer to function correctly.

In Internet Explorer, Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

Select the Security tab.

Select Local Intranet.

Select Custom Level. Change your settings to match these:
ActiveX controls and plug-ins:

Automatic prompting for ActiveX Controls: Enable

Binary and script behaviors: Enable

Download signed Active X controls: Prompt

Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Prompt

Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Prompt

Run Active X controls and plug-ins: Enable

Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting: Enable
Downloads

Automatic prompting for file downloads: Enable

File download: Enable

Font download: Enable
Java VM
-
Java permissions: Medium safety

Disable any pop-up blockers.
Important: Repeat the process and duplicate the settings above substituting the Internet area in step 2 above.
